ERGONOMIC ASSESSMENT

Ergonomics is the science of fitting the job to the worker.

This means that we need to modify the work environment or job tasks to fit the individual needs of the worker, rather than assume that each & every worker will be able to work comfortably & safely in a standard work station.

Without correct ergonomic set up your employees risk sustaining ongoing pain which can result in chronic health issues, including occupational overuse syndrome or various soft tissue injuries. It is not uncommon for surgery to be required to resolve problems which could have been prevented by correct ergonomics & working posture.

Employees often report a significant decrease in pain & stiffness following simple workstation adjustments & comment “oh that makes perfect sense now”. Approximately 30 minutes is all that it will take to perform a basic review & modify a worker’s workspace & improve their overall health & safety at work.

An ergonomic assessment involves assessing the worker, their posture, the work practices & the immediate work environment. Recommendations are provided regarding specific modifications to reduce risks & ensure optimal work posture & environment. You will be provided with a report outlining simple & practical solutions, including any modifications or equipment required for each worker assessed.

A risk assessment involves an on site visit by our accredited staff. They will meet with management & workers, discuss recent injuries or incidents that have occurred as well as identifying other areas of concern. An overview of the workplace & systems will be undertaken whereby hazards will be identified & the level of risk associated with each hazard determined. Risk control strategies & guidelines for evaluating & reviewing these control measures will be outlined in a comprehensive report.
